If the holiday falls on a weekend, service will not be interrupted. If an *observed holiday falls on a weekday, collection for the days that follow during that week will be delayed by one day. Service is not affected if the collection day is before a holiday.

Examples:

• If one of the *observed holidays falls on a Monday: the pick up schedule for everyone will be pushed back by one day. 
• If one of the *observed holidays falls on a Wednesday: Monday and Tuesday routes will run as normal. Wednesday-Friday routes will be delayed by one day. 
• Depending on when the holiday is, the days shift like this: Monday pick up moves to Tuesday, Tuesday to Wednesday, Thursday to Friday and Friday to Saturday.

*Observed holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

CLAW TRUCK

Homewood manages the claw truck that comes around and picks up debris or trash. This truck follows the same holiday schedule as the CITY follows. They normally push the days back according the when the holiday falls during the week. But as a practice, even during the weeks that contain a holiday, you should place your debris at the curb on the days you normally would. As we have an excellent crew, they tend to catch up very quickly and we would hate to miss yours.
