Garbage, Debris, and Recycling

Amwaste collects our garbage and recycling on a Monday/Thursday or Tuesday/Friday route. Our "claw truck" that picks up debris runs Monday-Friday. If you are unsure which days you should follow for either of these, use the "Contact Homewood" info below to connect with Public Works.


On your pick up days, please have your cart and/or debris at the curb by 6:30am. Please do not place anything in the road. Check the cart placement info below for further guidance.

  • Amwaste Monday/Tuesday Sorting

    Place the following items in your cart:

    1. Garbage
    2. Recycling
    3. All acceptable items

    This days collections are sent to "RePower" in Montgomery for sorting.

  • Amwaste Thursday/Friday Sorting

    Place the following items in your cart:


    1. Garbage
    2. All acceptable items

    This days collections are sent to the dump. Do not add recylable items on these pick up days. Please have your cart at the curb by 6:30am.


    For all items that will not fit into your cart,  the City of Homewood provides a "claw" truck on these days to pick up debris, trash or other items. Place all items away from power lines, on the curb, not in the street.
