Leaves & Large Piles
Please do NOT rake your leaves to the curb or into the street! Bag your leaves and place in your cart if there is room. If there is not room in your cart, bag your leaves and place on the curb to be picked up by the "claw" truck on Thursday or Friday, depending on your route days. Why did the city phase out the leaf truck service? It was a combination of truck repairs/expenses and staffing issues.
If you have a pile of debris to place at the curb, please use the list below as a guide to what is acceptable. This is a list of material that will NOT be picked up:
- Construction debris
- Contractor generated debris piles
- Cinder blocks, tile, bricks, or concrete
- Piles of dirt
- Tires
- Car batteries
- Lithium ion batteries
- Large vehicle parts such as engines, rotors, bumpers, side panels, ets.
- Landscape or railroad cross-ties
- More than household amounts of hazardous waste
- Non-solidified paint containers (lids are to be left off for review)
- Pool chemicals
- Medical waste to include sharps and needles
- Animal carcasses
