We have known for a few years that Homewood would be impacted by the sewer project that is wrapping up in Mt. Brook, and now it is here. Jefferson County has informed us that the sewer project begins in the Hollywood neighborhood Tuesday, July 10. See the map for impacted streets.
There will be no disruption of sewer service. There is always the possibility of water or gas service disruption, but only due to an unforeseen situation. If this happens the homeowner will be notified ASAP and service re-established ASAP.
Roads will be closed in small sections at a time. There will be traffic control such as barricades and the like, but not people directing traffic. Residents will always have access to their homes and we will work directly with them as best we can to ensure this happens."
This project is a replacement of the sewer main. This repair will travel right down the middle of the road. No landscaping or triangles will be affected.
After the repair, there will be temporary patching. After 30-45 days, the area that was dug up will be re-paved.
This project will eventually touch many neighborhoods, we will keep you informed as we get the details.
