Item 34.08.24: Council approved the 2025 city budget that totals $107.6 million. Walter Jones, the finance committee chair, highlighted the key projects. The long-awaited "65 Diamond Interchange" project will fix the tricky intersection at I-65 and Oxmoor Road. The Greenway trailhead, part of the Green Springs revamp, also got the green light, along with new sidewalks on Central Avenue. Fire Station Three will see an expansion, and employees will benefit from a 4% cost-of-living adjustment, and the city will cover rising medical expenses that were a little over 4%.

Item 02.09.24: Council approved donating a temporary construction easement for Jefferson County sanitary sewer work. This involves donating a temporary construction easement for construction that will effect West Homewood for the next couple of years. The project, set to start in August 2025, will involve installing about 3,750 feet of new, larger pipe along the creek behind Waldrop Stadium, without disturbing nearby neighborhoods. The work stretches from Snow Drive near FedEx to Sherbrooke Drive, with construction slated to commence in early 2027, assuming all necessary rights-of-way are secured by December 2025. The estimated cost is $5.7 million.
