Finance Highlights 03/18/24
1. Committee heard a report from Council President Alex Wyatt about the petition that is now in circulation that needs to have enough signatures to then have a referendum to consider changing the form of government in Homewood. He stated the latest they could have the referendum would be August. He also advised councilors they are able to provide their opinion on this matter as a citizen, but the city can't spend tax-payer money to advertise in any way about the petition or the referendum. Planning & Development Highlights 03/18/24
1. Committee approved without recommendation a public hearing set for April 22, 2023 at 6:00pm for consideration of an amendment to the Final Development Plan for Samford University to permit the proposed construction of a new three-story addition to the existing North Parking Deck that would expand the current structure and add an additional 550 parking spaces as a means to accommodate the University’s on campus parking needs. (The Planning Commission had a vote of 5-0 for a favorable recommendation)
